The Kootenies is a special freshwater fishing experience. All the lakes in the area support healthy fish stocks. Kootenay Lake especially is famous for its Gerrard Rainbow trout, the only species of its kind in the world. Bull Trout otherwise known as Dolly Vardon also reach epic sizes.

We also spend a couple of months in the summer fishing for salmon and halibut in Nootka Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Here also the fish are very large in size reaching upwards of 50 lbs plus.
